Chess King

Crocheted simplified chess king. I used worsted weight yarn and a size G crochet hook. To see all the pieces, click here [link] .

Directions:

(Make 1 in each color)
Rnd 1: Make a sliding loop, ch 3, dc 11 in loop, sl st in top of ch 3 to join rnd, pull loop tight.
Rnd 2: Ch1, sc in same st, sc in back loop of next 11 sts, sl st in first st (both loops). Place coin or washer in bottom of piece.
Rnd 3: Ch1, sc in same st, sc in next 11 sts, sl st in first st.
Rnd 4-9: Work same as Rnd 3. Stuff piece.
Rnd 10: Ch 1, sc 2 tog in same and next st, sc 2 tog 5 more times, sl st in first st, ch 3, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and next st, ch 3, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and next st, ch 3, sl st in 2nd ch from hook and next st, sl st on opposite side of cross to stabilize, sl st on opposite side of base and end off. Tuck in ends.
